Meet Jane, The Beauty Entrepreneur Behind Nolaskinsentials
Born in 2017, Nolaskinsentials’ goal is to revolutionize the beauty industry with affordable, hand-crafted skincare that actually works to combat acne. Clean, cruelty-free and vegan, Nolaskinsentials boasts natural products that are effective, just look at the rave reviews from the brand’s loyal customers, affectionately named Nolababes. We chatted with the founder about her favorite products and what’s next for the brand. Meet Jane and learn more about Nolaskinsential’s below.
Please, tell us about yourself?
Isn't it funny you think you know yourself, until it's actually time to tell someone about yourself? (lol). My name is Jane, a 24-year old proud gemini #girlboss and founder of the Nolaskinsentials brand! NOLA pretty much consumes me and on the days that it doesn't, I spend most of my time restaurant hopping with my boyfriend or loving on our babies! (Cat + dog mom).
What inspired you to create Nola Skinsentials and what motivated you to make Nola Skinsentials clean, cruelty-free and vegan?
Like many others, I suffered with acne and grew tired of paying for overpriced items that didn't work. And it was in that moment, I knew I wanted to focus solely on skincare. It all felt like a money-making tactic, rather than products you should be using on your skin. If you can’t eat it, you shouldn’t be using it on your face; toxic chemicals aren’t going to give you a good payout anyway.
We read that you were a Biology major, how helpful is having that background when selecting ingredients for your products?
With my focus on biology and the mechanisms of the skin, it helps me with the ingredients selection. Above all, it also helps to build my ability to tailor products that target a wide-array of skin conditions and skin types.
What toxic ingredients should we be looking out for in our skincare products?
You'll want to stay away from Parabens and phthalates for sure!
Which Nola Skinsentials Product(s) are you most proud of?
I love them equally, they're all my little babies. If I had to choose, it'll be the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask or Witches Brew Toner. Hearing such great feedback about how they've helped our customers really became a game changer for us.
What's your daily skincare routine?
DAY: Skin Smoothie Cleanser, Witches Brew Toner, Revitalizing Serum, Sunscreen, Hyaluronic H2O Creme.

What advice would you give to other young entrepreneurs or someone pursuing a career in beauty?
There's a lane for everyone, stay true to you and why you started this journey. True enough, there are bad days, but that's with anything right? But those good days? They ALWAYS make the process so much more worth it.
