It’s so easy to get complacent with shopping at the same top industry labels as everyone else, whether it be fast fashion or high end. These companies tend to release the same trends or are so accessible and popular that everyone is wearing them. Let’s face it fast fashion is getting rather boring and we are all on the hunt for new refreshing designers. If you're looking to add killer pieces that will stand out in your wardrobe, we've got you covered! Here’s a list of several small brands that have our attention; and all so happen to be WOC! :)
Hanifa
Ready-to-Wear brand Hanifa, is a contemporary women's brand that specializes in unique styles, colors and textures. When we first discovered Hanifa, we fell in love with the designer’s vibrant color pallet and one of a kind pieces. We lusted over the Zoila heel that showed the brands range for not only garments but footwear as well. It’s been exciting to watch this brand grow and pop up on stylish celebs like Ciara, Karrueche, and Angela Simmons. The brand seems to have hit their stride with just recently releasing their latest collection, "The Pink Label," featuring captivating colors and curve-hugging silhouettes. The collection is a true representation of the growth and strength of the brand and we are excited to see how the company continues to develop.

We've been keeping up with designer, Karla Deras since her blogging days; where we were amazed by how she made vintage pieces look sophisticated and sexy. From the jump, it was evident that the designer had a rare taste level and eye for detail. Her launching a line of her own seemed like a no brainer for long time fans. The brand’s vibe is styled up basics, these are pieces that play well with your entire closet and are sure to stand out on their own. The Line By K has something for everyone.
3. Sincerely Tommy
Sincerely, Tommy is a Brooklyn based lifestyle store with a house coffee bar focusing on emerging womenswear, lifestyle brands and community. Their collection is curated specifically for their audience of fiercely stylish women. They carry unique designers and stand out pieces that are sure to spice up your wardrobe and level up your brand awareness. Boutique owner Kai Avent-deLeon has cultivated something truly special with Sincerely Tommy, by staying true to her brand aesthetic she has grown her company and loyal customer fan base.

While searching for new small brands, I stumbled upon MSB by designer Maya Bentley. From a quick social scroll of their insta I can sense this is a brand with an interesting POV; the garments fly! The detailing is on point each piece has a special feature that makes it a must-have item. Their super feminine styles pack power in the most elegant way, this is a contemporary brand I want to keep up with. Truly a hidden gem, the vision behind this brand is strong and surely will lead the designer to high places. This is definitely a brand you should get familiar with.
