Style Guide: Fall Boots
If Mary J Blige has taught us anything it’s that; 1. There will be no hateration in this dancery and 2. Boots go with everything. There’s something about a good pair of boots that elevate an outfit or in Mary’s case allow you to jig on stage like no other. Now we all have our tried and true over the knee boots - (aunties say amen) and our basic chelsea booties that never fail us. This fall, we implore all of you to go outside of the box and dip into some of the many trends designers and your favorite brands are offering. We’re diving into boot trends you’ll see up and down your timelines this fall, hear us out below.
Square Up
Taking it back to the 90's, the square toe is back, it was everywhere this summer in the form of heeled sandals. This season the square toe box is still going strong, I was hard pressed to find a brand not offering square toe boots. If for some reason you haven’t tried this style, put your skepticism aside and get hip you square!
Big Slouch
Everything comes back around- thats why it pays to be a hoarder.. sometimes. Slouchy boots definitely give off big 80's vibes, you can bring this style current with a sleek Knee-high block or stiletto heel. Pair with a Midi skirt or pair of skinny jeans to show these boots off.
Get Wild
Animal print is the new black! Leopard and cheetah print reign supreme every fall but these prints have some competition this year. Thanks to the Yee-haw agenda, cow print had a stronghold on the print game this summer and shows no signs of slowing up. Croc, snakeskin and zebra prints have also entered the chat and are sure to be in the running for America’s favorite animal print. Don’t be afraid to show your wild side this season!
Laced
Victorian boots are back, this style can go costume-y real quick if you’re not careful but if thats what you’re going for, we won’t judge! For those trying to get into this trend without looking like they jumped out a time machine, we suggest pairing these boots with boyfriend jeans and a cute jacket or blazer.
